writing somewhat prolifically

My writing comes in waves I guess. Writing is like a feeling for me. It's a rare one, but when it comes, and I feel like writing, and the inspiration is there, I can write some amazing stuff.

For example, with poetry... if I just feel like I want to write a poem, it comes out very forced, and people can tell. It doesn't flow then. When I feel the inspiration, it's like the poem is in me, and it wants to come out. Then it's the duty for my hand to take the pen and write the poem, otherwise it will leave me. Same thing with stories as well. The right inspiration and moment can create some awesome scenes and short stories. Often music will get me in the right mood for a particulary instense moment in a story.

Also, my writing tends wax and wane. I can go for weeks and even months without writing any creative stories or poems. But at some point the dam breaks and I've got a flood if ideas and inspiration that gets me going for week long stints. Like now for example, I've been on a long run. I've gotten about five different story ideas acutally written down, and in progress, and probably like eight to ten different poems written. Quite productive, if you ask me.

Well, now I'm in the mood to share my latest poem. I didn't think I would, but I like it, and I'm curious to see if anyone has any interpretations. I purposely left it out capitaliztion and punctuation to let the reader put their own interpretation into it. So, here we go:

The Flow of Thunder

don't play outside
the flow of thunder
carrying mysteries
they had forgotten me
she held out her hand
and I looked once more
me, remotely possessed
rain, leaving them
